About me
As a freelance copywriter (and secondary school English teacher of 8 years), I value the weight of words (I mean, how else do you get 30-something teenagers to sit and listen to you for hours on end?). Words have the ability to inspire and educate. They can bring peace or cause war. Words can sell, convince, comfort but also disengage, cause internal conflict and everything in-between. Finding the right words to really illustrate your brand is tough (I mean there are hundreds of thousands of words to choose from) - and that is where I can help. I want to work with brands from the grassroots i.e. discussing your ethos, visions, styles and character, right through to your finalised, flourished copy. I aim to choose the right words so you don't have to. With me you guarantee: - Experience in most word processors and online blogging platforms such e.g. Wordpress - SEO efficiency - A portfolio that boasts high quality copy including brochures, landing pages, blog posts, website copy and social media copy. - Initial and ongoing client communication (via phone, email or video) where we discuss your branding and strategies in detail, and clarification on tone/styles to fit with your company's branding. - Private research into your sector to optimise viewing on the content - Open and honest communication about what is expected with your copy If you're looking for a writer to animate your branding, please reach out. I look forward to finding some words for you!

Catalyst Housing - Covid 19 Safety ScriptFor this project I was freelanced from the videography provider to write a script for a housing association to outline the safety precautions they were taking upon the reopening of their marketing suites. The client required a script that explained the new Covid measures at their marketing suites and show homes following their reopening. It was paramount this script outlined the safety precautions and visitor expectations clearly and concisely, so there was no room for error. The information ha

Modern Woman Magazine - Website CopyAs a woman looking charging head-first into the the freelance copywriting fray, this particular project was everything I was looking for. The client - a female-led magazine aimed at professional and entrepreneurial women - commissioned me to write engaging, yet clear website copy for the launch of their new mentoring programme. As part of my service, we had discovery video and phone calls to discuss the brand, their ethos and their vision, and the editor was able to give me some insight into th

Full Website Copy & Blog PostsFor this exciting project, the client commissioned me to write full website copy. The client - a multimedia digital marketing solutions studio - were overhauling and rebranding their company to suit their dynamic and technology driven ethos. It was important to retain their efficacy and professionalism in this copy, while showing off their vibrant and modern quality. I was able to enjoy some fun little puns and wordplay in this, but also had the satisfaction of creating fluid and engaging B2B c

I currently work as a secondary school English teacher, with a role as Key Stage 4 Co-ordinator. While the role is not strictly copywriting, the job entails many of the skills needed for copy. The need for all-round professionalism, meeting strict deadlines, an eye for proof-reading and editing, and the knowledge of how to utilise the English language to inspire, entertain, advise, educate and (essentially) sell your knowledge are all key in the job. As a result, I am used to working in a high-pressure environment and thinking creatively and innovatively in order to effectively teach students and meet important school targets.

Awarded First Class Honours. The Literature aspect of the course explored a range of literary greats, and their historic importance. It involved analysing and exploring writer's use of language and structure to create meaning and depth, providing useful inspiration in my own writing. The Language modules on the course explored everything including language acquisition, loss and development, transcription and the use of language in conversational settings, and language in the media and its diversity across newspapers. My dissertation focused on language in feminist literature that blurred and opposed the gender binary, arguing that the gender binary and the use of gendered language can be deemed unnecessary.
