  A Glass ChristmasDec 2019 #AGlassChristmas was inspired by novelist James Hilton’s book ‘The Lost Horizon’ and our Glass Christmas theme. The ginkgo tree, a species native to China, was selected as the base for the seasonal installation to symbolise the meeting of East and West. Hun- dreds of glass bottles were recycled from the hotel and integrated into the design to promote sustainabili- ty in a season of excess. The tree was displayed at the Shangri la hotel London
