About me
In the early stages of my A level art course at Farnborough 6th College I discovered that I had a real passion and interest in textiles. My passion grew further through my post A level foundation year and I am building on my learning and experience through my degree course at Bournemouth Arts. I have a real hunger to develop the various methods that I have discovered such as mark making and taking those techniques forwards into useable creative designs. I enjoy the process and challenges of successfully blending colour, texture and shape to create compositions and then taking those compositions through to print. I am intrigued and inspired by the use of colour, tone, shade and tints in textile production. I frequently experiment with unusual and dynamic colour palettes and I have many examples of this kind of work in my portfolios and sketchbooks. I want very much to work in a busy commercial team to see how ideas and designs can be developed from concept through to the production ready stage. I want to develop new skills enabling me to explore new techniques and expand my knowledge and imagination working with people who share my passion and who can help me understand the commercial processes and boundaries. I am totally open to any opportunity to develop and explore other techniques and mediums outside of print. I would welcome and embrace any opportunity to work in a textiles focused company. I have a real desire to experience every stage and phase of commercial textile design, production and use. I want to understand the business from end to end, from brief or concept stage through to a commercially viable end product. I am an extremely committed, hard working and honest individual and I would hope that I would bring something positive to any opportunity offered to me.

  • Our Bali Journey
Our Bali JourneyOur Bali Journey This project was inspired by when my brother went away travelling for 7 months. I really missed him when he went away, and wanted to create a collection based on the fact we were twins, and a collection which held a sample for each day we spent together in Bali. For example, I have a sample from when we went to the monkey sanctuary, a sample from the rice paddy fields with the big looping, a sample inspired by a beach club we visited, a sample from the jungle in Bail which al

The idea of the brief is to design scarfs that best suit the idea of the connection between the mother and the company itself. The connection n
  • Beyond Seeing - FINAL MAJOR PROJECT
Beyond Seeing - FINAL MAJOR PROJECTHaving grown up with a twin who was diagnosed with very mild cerebral palsy, I was always interested in the way he learnt and how he used objects for his learning and development. As a child, we used to play with different objects that interacted with his senses, making sure he was stimulated visually and also when he was interacting with materials physically. My brother was also diagnosed with dyslexia, meaning he was unable to spell, get his numbers in the correct order and also do simple thin

     - Bethnal Green Rd, London, UKInternship
I completed an internship at Mirjam Rouden's studio in Bethnal Green. I produced and developed drawings within florals working with Tropicals and Ditsy Florals. I gathered my own inspiration and developed drawings further for them to be turned into a digital design. I was successful enough to develop 7 designs throughout my 4 weeks working within the studio. These designs have been printed onto fabrics and will be sold to different companies. I worked as a team with others, exploring and criticising my own work so that it met the standards for the company. I very much enjoyed completing an internship and look forward to working with other companies in the future on placements. See less
