About me
I can help your design agency tell compelling stories, and craft a content strategy to win you new business. My editorial skills also translate beautifully into long-form copywriting for brands. While editor of award-winning graphic design title Computer Arts, I developed an in-depth understanding of how different agencies operate. During my tenure, I launched the Brand Impact Awards - an international prize scheme, for which I remain chair of judges - as well as the UK Studio Rankings, an annual peer reputation survey of the country's top design agencies. I play an active role in the design industry, and am a member of D&AD, 26, ProCopywriters and TypoCircle. As an awards judge, speaker and panel chair, I have worked with events and conferences globally.

    Brand Impact AwardsI am chair of judges for the Brand Impact Awards – an annual awards scheme that celebrates the world’s best branding. The awards are judged according to market sector, which gives bold, innovative work in traditionally conservative sectors the chance to shine. I launched the BIAs in 2014 following a major repositioning of the Computer Arts brand, and have since helped grow the event into an unmissable fixture in the design industry calendar.     Virgin By DesignI am the author of Virgin By Design, a premium ‘coffee-table’ book celebrating 50 years of the Virgin brand. Collaborating closely with the Virgin Group brand team and the book’s publisher Thames & Hudson, I helped develop a content strategy to appeal to brand designers, creative marketeers and ambitious entrepreneurs. Rather than a chronological retrospective, we agreed it would be more compelling to tell the story thematically, exploring the unique characteristics that make the Virgin brand

    HRODBrand identity to unify two newly joined departments at the international financial institution, the EBRD. The new department of Human Resources and Organisational Development (shortened to HROD internally) needed a cohesive way of communicating, both to the staff within the Bank, as well as prospective employees and partners externally, in order to be clear about the key role that they play in enabling the Bank’s work.
