Nicoló Urbani is a 22 year old Italian photographer with a strong passion for fashion.
Graduating soon with a degree in photography from Edinburgh Napier University, and being selected as one of the finalists for the Scottish Portrait Awards In Fine Art 2022 made Nicoló reflect on what achievements he reached as a photographer and how many he will attempt in the future.
He loves to plan his shoots, combining his role of fashion photographer to the one of art director: from getting in touch with fashion designers, to sourcing models, makeup artists, hair stylists, shoot locations and take care of budgeting.
His dream is one day to shoot for important high end fashion brands and publications.

- Edinburgh, United KingdomInternship
I did a placement through my university at this modelling agency in Edinburgh, where I covered the following duties:
• Taking test shots for models in a professional studio environment
• Sourcing and selecting models
• Keeping the webpage of the agency up to date
Overall, I did not only learn the key aspects of conducting test shoots for aspiring models, but I also had the chance to follow professionals in the studio and learn from them. This opportunity also made me gain very good knowledge and confidence with postproduction programs.
