Niko Tampio (b.1989) is a photographer navigating both the fine art and commercial realm without distinguishing between the two. With an eye for detail and color complemented by a strong personal vision he creates captivating and honest imagery across the genres of fashion, still life, architecture and everyday observation. Tampio holds a Master of Arts degree in photography from Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. Some of the prominent figures he has photographed include Rosanne Cash, Martha Cooper, The Game, Duckwrth, Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz of Onyx. He has published two books Seoul Journal (2019) and Punos (2019). His work has been exhibited globally, most notably in The Finnish Museum of Photography (2023) & The Sibelius Museum (2021). Recently he was granted a title collection in The Hip Hop Museum in New York for his work in hip hop.

- Roll CallersAhead of Bruce Springsteen’s Helsinki concert on Friday July 12th, 2024 I spent most of the week hanging out and photographing The Boss’ hardcore fans who started queuing for the show on Monday. The so-called ’’Roll Callers’’ pick their individual number in the line which determines the order who gets into the concert pit first and get to pick the best spot. Each day ahead of the concert they have to attend to a roll call (this time three times a day) in order to save their spot in the line. The

I spent a weekend photographing at the Tuska metal festival in Helsinki where tens of thousands metalheads gather every summer together to celebrate their culture in the heavy metal capital of the world.
