About me
Working as a barista for several years Oliver has been inspired by the amount of coffee waste produced on a day-to-day basis. In response to this problem Oliver has created a collection of furniture that is made from used coffee grounds. Biodegradable, non-toxic and food safe these products are an interesting solution to this issue. Oliver's work focuses on problem solving within design, identifying the key issues and finding solutions through designing and making while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship. Having taken inspiration from traditional Scandinavian minimalist design, Oliver’s pieces focus highly on functionality, texture and style.
Projects

Goose neck kettleI first spotted this intriguing Goose neck kettle during a tip to a local coffee shop in which this object instantly caught my eye. The thin and slender spout partnered with the much larger body crates a object that combines both elegance and robustness. It was this combination of qualities that fascinated me and made me want to recreate it using 3D rendering software. Starting with a hand sketch I drew out the main body making notes as I went, focusing on what materials and finishes where used

  • Metal and ceramic planter
Metal and ceramic planterWorking with Wedgwood I was given the brief of creating a planter for inside the home. Looking at existing products I was inspired by the look of hanging planters however they come at the cost of dripping water causing mess, which is why they are often placed outside the home. In response I created a collection of planters that solve this issue of draining water. In response to this I have designed a collection of planters that incorporate a water collection system. The water drips out the spout

With Nambe' being an American company this candelabra has been inspired by the varying heights found with the iconic American skyscrapers. This design features the metal alloy candle holders rising from the wooden base to disperse light at alternating heights. This candelabra has also been designed to work with both t
  • 3 in 1 diffuser
3 in 1 diffuserThe flexible home: Home sensory experience was a project given by John Lewis and partners. For this project I designed and made a diffuser with a interchangeable top so the owner had a wider range of of selection when choosing what odour emitters to use.
