About me
I have always had a strong sense of design, which I've explored both academically and professionally, studying Art History at university and since working for an arts organisation. Since graduating from university with First Class Honours in Art History (BA), I have gained experience working for Open City, London’s leading architecture education charity. It was through the role as Education Assistant at Open City that I both learnt and honed my InDesign, Photoshop, copywriting, networking and research skills. Having recently returned from living and travelling around Asia, where I took much inspiration from the art and culture - as well as working at a contemporary art gallery in Hanoi - I am looking for a creative role within a dynamic close-knit team. I am interested in working in an environment where I feel creatively fulfilled and can explore my interest in contemporary art and design.

Open City is London's leading architecture education charity; a not for profit organisation that seeks to open up debate and encourage dialogue about how architecture and public space affects our daily lives. Open City's education and community programmes aim to enable Londoners of all ages and backgrounds to engage with how their city is planned, built and used. My responsibilities at Open City were varied and far-reaching, ranging from creating published booklets using inDesign, writing press releases and updating the website using Dreamweaver. Amongst my main achievements whilst working within the education team are: successfully securing grants from Trusts and Foundations, through thorough research and well-written proposals; and coordinating the Architecture in Schools: Primary programme, inspiring over 750 KS2 pupils to explore our city and develop their creative skills through workshops, both in and out of the classroom, in partnership with architects and engineers. This experience taught me much about project coordination; seeing a project through from the recruitment stage to the awards ceremony gave me a huge understanding of how to liaise with many different groups of people, from high-level sponsors and professionals to hard-to-reach communities and young people.
