I'm a writer. I've written a couple of published books, some optioned screenplays, a couple of short films, and a LOT of copy for a host of different industries - including tech, finance, entertainment, and charity.   EMPIRE / NMEIn a previous life, I was a film journalist. I wrote film reviews for NME.com and worked as assistant editor on the 500 Five-Star Movies Special Edition of EMPIRE, the world’s biggest movie magazine. This role involved assembling information and analysis on the 500, generating ideas, extensive editing of copy and writing key features. It was a very cool job.
• Perfect TimingMy second novel. The story of a musician and a comic meeting at the Edinburgh festival and failing to find the right way to speak with each other. It's about comedy and music. And love.

  Love, UnscriptedMy debut novel, LOVE, UNSCRIPTED received a Kirkus Starred Review. Among many great write-ups, it was described as "Pure pleasure" by EMPIRE and "A complete delight" by Holly Bourne. Josie Silver labelled it, "Nostalgic, tender and achingly cool". It's about the movies. And love.

My experience: In 2018, I was incredibly fortunate to be offered two-book deals with a number of high-profile publishing houses in the UK, US, Canada, Italy, and Sweden. Repped by the prestigious Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency, my debut novel Love, Unscripted was released in the autumn of 2019. My second novel was released in 2021. As well as helping to create the brand direction and tone of voice, I was tasked with translating incredibly technical thinking into easy-to-understand copy. I studied screenwriting as part of the Creative Writing Masters. The course was broken down into dramaturgy and adaptation. Here I learned to share feedback and take criticism with good intentions. An MA will help you develop a thick skin when it comes to your writing. I recommend it.
