- Herbert's DuneBook cover illustration made for classic sci-fi novel DUNE by Frank Herbert for Science-Fiction Classics series of ?thaki Publishing House. Key elements are blended in forms of simple shapes and flat colouring in an abstraction. This approach is chosen to refresh the general attitude on sci-fi novels' realistic cover design in order to integrate with younger generation.
- Rematerialisation — The ToolThe Tool — is an installation to expand a concept. It presents an experience to understand the impact of materialisation between types of medium and how it distort the message. Message of the Tool is to provoke a new way of seeing, finding patterns in digital and real world. It links these opposite worlds together by using progress of rematerialisation. During the exploration of the Tool, same level of interest was paid to medium and message. It is a necessity to keep their importance at a balance for the best result. This equality is referencing its source of inspiration in a metaphorical way. As a medium, the Tool is a bridge from reality to virtuality. It contains distinct stages of a medium, which complete as a sign when merged. It starts from physical, then changes into digital and finalises with the combination of both. It is the process of being material again. As a message, the Tool has a narrative series of short phases about the medium. Textual content starts from Marshall McLuhan’s message and evolves into rematerialisation in media. It provokes the receiver to question the medium in terms of materiality.
- RepeticaProgress Repetica created by using capital Helvetica letters in three-dimensional form by central vertical rotation. It is an exploration in new dimension on letterforms. Exploration is made to question the following argument; typography was born in two-dimensional space, but we are three-dimensional receivers of these signifiers. Aim An abstract sculpture like letterforms can be used in public areas for guidance or information purposes. Large-scale usage of the forms creates a link between letter and space that allows using the typography as meeting points or zone dividers. Legibility is the key point to define abstract forms into letters, and create a meaning for receiver. - Can you differentiate letters from each other?
