- Sessions and Confessions on BURN FMAfter 18 years of friendship and 9 of those from 4000 miles apart, chums Rebecca and Dulcie are back in the same city. For 2 hours a week they have been on the radio, discussing Birmingham student confessions, their wildly different tastes in music and their views on the seemingly insignificant yet hugely controversial ins and outs of British culture.

- Use initiative and knowledge of the Birmingham music scene to organise two live events a year based on campus and around the city.
- Write articles for the radio station’s website including balanced album and gig reviews.

- I covered the theoretical perspectives that are used to explain and predict both economic and social situations as well as analysing situations from cultural perspectives.
- Within my later years of study I was able to explore an area of particular interest: the interaction between the media and politics.
- I first looked at this relationship in regards to the Hollywood film industry, exploring both how the relationship between America and the Middle East is portrayed through film. I also looked at how masculinity has been portrayed through film in modern cinema.
- In my final year of study I explored the role of political journalists and looking at how the role of the media has changed during this post-truth era.
- My focus on the role of the media and how it is heavily intertwined with the political sphere continued throughout my dissertation which was titled: 'Narrative control over US immigration policy: The Media and Obama and Trump Administrations'.
