About me
I grew up in the United States to a Norwegian family. Navigating between two cultures has fuelled my lifelong interest in travel & languages. Upon completing my BA in Human Rights, I moved to Dakar, Senegal to explore culture, art and development. While living in Senegal, I co-created an ethical business model partnering with tailors and artisans to produce beautiful homewares and clothing from local textiles.
To pursue my interest in design and textiles, I re-located to London to study Design Management and Cultures at UAL. As a design manager, I am inspired by my time in Senegal, where colourful prints reigned as well as the Nordic simplicity of my childhood.
Projects
- Six BougiesSix Bougies began as a passion project between three creative girlfriends, passionate about the vibrancy of West African textiles and the ease to realise our design ideas due to the abundance of local tailors and seamstresses. As Six Bougies grew and developed, I realised the importance of visual storytelling of West African cultural heritage via design and textiles as well as the fundamental relevance of shaping a narrative between the makers of the items that we purchase.
