Graduate Fashion Foundation is proud to support the important skill and recognise the value it holds. Ensuring a Technical Drawing is correct, to scale and featuring all components is incredibly important to ensure another team member, or factory can manufacture the garment correctly. Ensuring that garments are being produced to the required quality standard and that manufacturing is measured within tolerance.
Assisting in the fit process from proto stage through to the sealing stage and production approvals, taking the critical path into consideration, involving grading specs, approval of test reports and shipment samples.
Working out size specifications and planning how new garments will be made up by producing initial and graded size charts.
Coordination of samples submitted to the business, logging them into the system, and organising sending them back to the supplier when required.
Define and approve care & content label.
Assisting with technical drawings and design specifications where necessary using the Adobe Creative suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
Working to critical path deadlines, maintaining up to date paperwork and schedules ensuring that the work of the department is fully documented and delivery dates are met.
Liaising with customers and clients, working with Far East Factories, ensuring instructions are communicated and understood clearly. Dealing promptly with all specification queries from manufacturers ensuring all details are recorded, kept updated and relayed back to factories within the agreed time scales.
Preparation and organisation of catwalk and photoshoot outfits ahead of seasonal launch events, including working with the Design and Marketing team to select outfits and then collating samples for a large catwalk event. Styling and dressing models at catwalk shows.
