About me
I’m Rosemary (NICHO!) a Multidisciplinary designer and artworker from Cambridgeshire, passionate about the ever-changing world of design. In 2015 I won a D&AD New Blood Award for the Monotype brief, and graduated with first class honours in Graphic Communications from the University of Northampton. I'm currently in the middle of a rebrand - New content coming soon! In my spare-time I also manage a club in Peterborough, organising meetings and events, as well as using my design skills to create campaigns, advertisements, and even videos for our events. www.nichodesigns.com

  • There Be Dragons
There Be DragonsTHERE BE DRAGONS - Final Major Project. Encouraging Creative Professionals to seek inspiration elsewhere than London. ------- “There Be Dragons” is a monthly pack specifically targeted at creative people showcasing, perhaps, unknown inspirational areas of interest within towns across the United Kingdom. These cities are often overshadowed by the industrial powerhouse that?is London, so the concept behind “There Be Dragons” is to illustrate what else the country has to offer, and what could be potentially inspiring, and beneficial to a Creative’s work. The “There Be Dragons” name?and logo, is based on a term coined by cartographers in the middle-ages, representing new, and uncharted lands. My focus was also on making the packets personal to the receiver, rather than an app or digital element, through the use of a hand crafted, and urbanised themes, and featured a selection of different paper stocks and printing techniques to do this. Each pack contains a map of that months city of interest, along with?a booklet featuring key places, colour-coded for specific creative professions; namely graphic designers, illustrators, photographers and fine artists. Stores and areas of interest are also highlighted within the booklet accompanying the map within the envelope. The pack also contains postcards showcasing work from local artists and designers, as well as business cards, flyers, leaflets, and stickers,?from various local creative agencies, people, and studios.

Strand, London WC2R 1LA, UKFull Time
I work as the in-house designer at Simmons and Schmid (Formally WordWorks) over a multitude of mix-medium projects in both Digital and Print based materials. Projects include creating and designing websites and microsites for our clients, as well as social media content. I am able to bring forward my passion for print and editorial design into my work when creating brochures and catalogues for clients, as well as large exhibition pieces for when our clients go to international trade-shows, or talks. I also artwork my work so it is ready for print or the next phase in the project. I'm often in charge of creating illustrations, icons and colourful assets for clients to use across their mediums, static or animated.

     - Oakham, United KingdomFull Time
When I joined EducationCity, the company’s brand style was tired and out-dated. With the current unpredictable economic climate within education, it was key for the company to stay current and allow customers to navigate its different mediums easily. Because of this my colleague and I have created a fresh new identity for the company, which is continuously being applied to both new and old projects. One major part of this update was the creation of a new website, which we have full creative control over, working closely with a web developing company to achieve the results we wanted for a successful site. We also implemented our new styling to campaigns and promotions, advertisements, as well as internal projects and PDFs. We have also begun designing for EducationCity’s parent company Edmentum, situated in the US, and we’re working on emails and promotions for them. One of our largest on-going projects is the quarterly email campaign. Since my colleague and I have had full creative control of the layout and styling, EducationCity has seen an open-rate of 35-75% within its email campaigns, a significant jump from the 5%-15% it would typically see, and we have more people signing up for trials from the emails than ever before. As the creative department is small, we also work as art workers, photographers, videographers, illustrators and animators. We are often described as the creative ‘jack-of-all-trades’ department!
