About me
Hello, I’m Sarah, a Loughborough university Textiles graduate 2020, looking for new a challenge and adventure in the Textiles industry. I am an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and ambitious woven textiles creator with a desire to embed sustainability in woven textiles design. My designs have a textural richness, carefully considered colour palettes, and demonstrate environmentally conscious design decisions. My final collection ‘Defended Coastline’ is inspired by my personal passion of being in, on and by the coast.Specialising in woven textiles has enabled me to gain a great in-depth understanding of yarns and fabrics, and the importance of colour, texture and quality. I enjoyed multiple roles within the textiles industry during my placement year; I developed a wide range of skills and knowledge, which I value, and have applied to produce my final collection ‘Defended Coastline’. I intend to continue to pursue my passion for colour, sustainability, and texture as a textiles designer. If you would like to discuss my work, or see my CV please get in contact by emailing me at sarah_grace_manning@hotmail.com or messaging me on my instagram: sarahmanningdesign

This role was split between the Dash and Miller (Design studio) and Bristol Weaving Mill (Micro Mill). I designed, set up and wove on a variety of different looms. I developed my understanding of a variety of weaving techniques and learnt how to use Pointcarre weave software. I assisted designers who were working closely with clients to develop design ideas through meetings, trend research, mood-boards, CADs and handloom samples.
