About me
Previously, as the head of social media at Crab Creative, I was the community manager for Haribo UK, MAOAM UK, Nature Valley UK, Alpro UK & more. In this role I also did research for pitches and developed the social strategy. As a freelance community manager I've created content & copy for YouTube, Google, Marmite, Pot Noodle, Discovery TV, Universal, Kit Kat, Aero, Mr Kipling, Carphone Warehouse, Hovis & more.
Outside of my day job I freelance as a journalist / blogger on the social media industry and have been published in Econsultancy (formerly New Media Age), Chinwag, The Huffington Post and The Guardian. My first book “How To Get A Job Using Twitter” was published through Guardian Books in 2014 and my 2nd book on the subject of growing online communities was self-published in 2016. Additionally, I am a guest lecturer on social media at both Portsmouth and Nottingham Trent Uni.
Projects
- HariboHaribo had a very corporate voice that wasn’t helping grow its Facebook community. By investing money into content and giving the brand a voice which made it look fun, quirky and interesting I organically doubled the number of Fans (from 80,000 to over 160,000) in 4 months while keeping engagement rates high. The strategy I helped put together is still used today. I used a similar style of content during my time at Marmite and Pot Noodle.
