Simonluca is an award winning Director of Photography based in London. Passionate about cinema, photography and travels since a young age he decided to study Cinema and Visual Arts at the University of Roma Tre in Rome, with a cultural exchange at the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. Since obtaining his degree he has spent some times travelling around the world taking pictures, until he decided to move to London to pursue his dream of becoming a Director of Photography.
His unconventional career path started in the world of web commercials and branded content as self-shooting director, lighting cameraman and editor, here he expanded his understanding of the whole filmmaking process. Developing his skills as Director of Photography through workshops at the National Film and Television School and hands-on on-set experience, he started shooting higher budget commercials, short movies, promos and documentaries.
He has since then won awards for Best Cinematography, his work has been featured on Hunger Magazine TV and he has shot TV commercials and high profile branded content for brands such as Huawei, Nike, RedBull, Heineken, Sony, NFL, Swarovski, BaByliss, Garnier, Tony & Guy, Tate, GQ, Wallpaper*, and many others.
No matter what the scale of the project is, he always strives to realise the director’s vision creating every time an ad-hoc look that best interprets the story and the idea behind the film.
