I’m a highly conceptual, versatile and forward thinking designer, with a speciality for finding the unique amongst the everyday. I have extensive UK and International experience, working on a wide variety of high- end projects, specialising in hotels and luxurious retail and bar & restaurant projects.
Projects
- The Barnhouse @ The LakesWith two distinct designs to choose from, the Barnhouse offers complete privacy in a lush woodland setting. Built from green oak and natural Cotswold stone, the house takes its inspiration from traditional agricultural style buildings and architecture, but there is a distinct modern twist. There is nothing merely functional here. Every contemporary comfort is catered for and there is a beautiful outdoor pool from which to escape the heat of the day. Kate’s design vision is the perfect counterpoint to the traditional elegance of the Barnhouse. Her retro, playful styling creates a sense of displaced glamour hidden amongst the woods. There is so much to explore and enjoy here. Bespoke, hand-crafted furniture, artwork by Damien Hirst, The Chapmans and others, and bright pops of colour on walls and furnishings, all combine to make this family home “an indulgence worth treasuring”.

As Studio Bear I have been able to continue my work as the external Head of Design for the Columbo Group, taking the lead on their new projects and also providing design support across the Groups existing portfolio of venues throughout London.
Alongside Columbo, I have kept and continue to develop my relationship with FABRICA, aiding them in their FF&E, styling and CGI direction on the Carlton House development and helping them to bring in a new style and feeling to area.

I joined Moooi as one of the leads on their retail and interior design team, with a focus on helping to form a department capable of bringing in large scale commercial and hospitality projects world wide, enabling it truly stand amongst the most established design houses.
This saw my role take a more conceptual and creatively led approach to the design of the brand showrooms, filtering this through to the larger dealers and ultimately into Salone de Mobile in Milan. Throughout the year I’ve successfully completed five redesigns across our four showrooms, (with a sixth in progress in Tokyo), whilst continuing the work to assist our dealers and partners in their personal presentations, ultimately boosting their sales and brand exposure in previously less successful markets. SO/Auckland, my first project & Moooi’s first foray into hotels, has recently opened to critical acclaim, showcasing the first public ‘Mega Chandelier’ for the brand, and helping to strengthen Moooi’s perception as an all encompassing lifestyle brand.
