I’m a highly conceptual, versatile and forward thinking designer, with a speciality for finding the unique amongst the everyday. I have extensive UK and International experience, working on a wide variety of high- end projects, specialising in hotels and luxurious retail and bar & restaurant projects.
I joined the Studio Reed team to aid in the nal designing, accessorising and nishing of their longest standing project in Kuwait. Throughout the term of my contract I have managed, procured, commissioned and personally designed over 100 pieces for the client, all of which have been custom made by individual makers around the world. Whilst at Studio Reed I also chose to take on the responsibility of managing the progress of all custom items being made for the client during this stage of the process. The culmination of this being in the current install in Kuwait, having had all items make their shipping dealings and ultimately getting to site on or ahead of time.
At the end of 2015 I was approached to become Head of Design of RADAR, a global premium exhibition, event and commercial design and production agency in London who were looking to expand further into the luxury market - a great opportunity to join a young brand where I could widen the scope of my design contributions and be a large part of a growing company. Overseeing and being involved in every aspect of the design process from the initial briefs through to nal site sign-off with the client has given me extensive experience in leading and managing a team on both large and small scale projects across all sectors of the industry. Interpreting, curating and implementing unique pieces. From Garrad’s anniversary story at the State Historical Museum in Moscow, to imaginative and innovative settings for gaming clients in London and Europe my creativity and imagination has been stretched and I’ve learnt to think bigger and challenge the normal constraints of design and to always search for the more creatively diverse solutions when met with hurdles. The other side of my role was to look after the visualisers and our roster of freelancers, ensuring all work was completed on time and to spec, and co-ordinate with the project managers to ensure the build went as smoothly as possible. Alongside this I took over the ongoing re-branding of the company both graphically and physically, its relocation to Notting Hill, website re-design and overall creative direction of the company as a whole.
I was the lead designer on The Barnhouse project with Kate Moss, taking it from the initial pitch presentation, through the concept design and technical drawings, to FF&E scheduling and specification culminating in its recent completion. Throughout the project I've led all site and client meetings, whilst personally completing all design work - leading to 100% client sign o and the signing of Kate Moss as a creative director - a pitch I both produced and took part in alongside our CEO John Hitchcox and Director Mark Davison. The project, completed at the end of September 2015 was featured heavily in the press at the time, including on Dezeen and a four page feature in the Sunday Telegraph in print and online and soon to be used as a judges house on this years X-Factor. Heading up the concept design and FF&E spec for the show apartments and public spaces within the Waters Edge, Bangalore project in collaboration with Jade Jagger - the design for which received 100% sign off from the client at every stage thus far. Calling on my pinterest experience I set-up and run the studio's private pinterest inspiration boards whilst using my own library to aid and develop the initial concept inspiration for projects across the studio as a whole. Placed solely responsible for the re-design and overall look & feel of the studio @2 Bentinck Street by John Hitchcox, including spearheading the design and creation of the annual studio Christmas 'tree'.
One of my key roles responsibilities was the overall production, from the design development and revision packages in vectorworks to the design of limited edition patterns and furniture for the new Mondrian hotel Doha. During this period I also worked with Marcel directly on his own apartment, taking control for the design of the entrance and corridors featuring an immersive Good News wall and ceiling design. Both leading and managing the intern team of four across the studio, from arranging their tasks to organising and implementing events across the studio on a regular basis.
Heavily involved in the creative aspects of the studio, I regularly worked with the artists and clients to create custom pieces, building strong working relationships with their artists in the process. I took on the general day-to-day running of the Mayfair gallery, heading up the reception area providing the main point of contact for all clients and visitors. Responsible for the design and layout of the exhibition spaces for international art fairs, and coinciding marketing material from magazine adverts to press releases.
