I am an aspiring Motion Graphics designer interested in pursuing a career in title sequence design and storytelling. At university I have had the opportunity to study animated information design, creating cross media campaigns for channel branding, title sequences and storytelling. From this I have found my calling for title sequence design, I enjoy storytelling and the art form title sequences allow me to accomplish this. During my time at Ravensbourne I gained a good understanding of title sequence design by creating two title motion pieces and writing my dissertation on ‘What role does motion graphics play in film title sequences?’ I investigated into film title history and the leading pioneering designers of film title design. My software strengths lie within editing in Aftereffects, premiere pro, designing in illustrator and Photoshop. I have gained an insight into the professional design industry from learning first hand at Sky and Verge magazine. A weeks long work experience placement in the Sky Creative department My role was to shadow the professionals in their working environment during live studio recordings and in the gallery of Sky Sports and Sky Sports News. As well as learning to understand how Sky broadcast their programmes live to TV. Overall It was an enjoyable week, as I was able to experience different roles first hand, live on the job.
Two Week intern experience at Verge Magazine as part of my college course in the creative media sector at The BRIT School. Verge Magazine distributes university campus magazines, whilst there I undertook the roles of being the researcher and design pitch assistant, pitching for MTV for the MTV staying alive campaign. It was my role to research the information for the campaign, ready to pitch it to MTV for their Staying alive campaign, whom which Verge Magazine are in association with.
