About me
I am an aspiring Motion Graphics designer interested in pursuing a career in title sequence design and storytelling. At university I have had the opportunity to study animated information design, creating cross media campaigns for channel branding, title sequences and storytelling. From this I have found my calling for title sequence design, I enjoy storytelling and the art form title sequences allow me to accomplish this. During my time at Ravensbourne I gained a good understanding of title sequence design by creating two title motion pieces and writing my dissertation on ‘What role does motion graphics play in film title sequences?’ I investigated into film title history and the leading pioneering designers of film title design. My software strengths lie within editing in Aftereffects, premiere pro, designing in illustrator and Photoshop. I have gained an insight into the professional design industry from learning first hand at Sky and Verge magazine. Projects
  • Twitter info graphic
Twitter info graphicComputer based info-graphic unit. The brief was designed to have a set topic that the animation info graphic would be based upon. My chosen topic was the social media topic of Twitter. The info-graphic was a short video of up to 2 minutes with my own choice of what I wanted the topic of twitter to have. My topics included, explaining what twitter was, how to use it, the most retweeted photo and message on the social site and the most popular celebrity with 51 million followers on the site. The info-graphic also features a voiceover script partly repeating what the words say on screen as well as explaining the meanings of what some of the icons and info graphic images represent
  • GK channel branding
GK channel brandingBranding and channel identity, to create an original brand identity for a food network to work across a variety of cross media concepts including online presence, tv presence and print billboards. My idea was to create a global food network television channel called Global Kitchen or GK for short which would broadcast a variety of global food recipes and programmes on the food channel. My cross media concepts campaign consisted of a brand identity logo, an on-screen DOG, a printed billboard, a poster and a branded GK Global Kitchen Van transport.

  • Where I come From
Where I come FromA Documentary project, choosing a topic that you can use filming, editing and sound editing skills. My chosen topic was 'Where I come from', the title could suggest where I live, however my topic is based upon my spanish heritage, wanting to choose a subject that was close to my heart. This project was very personal for me as I used the documentary to delve into family research and information that I had not previously known about. Since completing this project I have used this as a goal to want to visit to the birth places of my deceased grandparents and find out more information about what they were like from family members in Spain.
  • Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the BeastOne of my first projects at Ravensbourne was the Beauty and the Beast, a story retold. This project was to retell a fairytale and modernise it and alter the situation of the characters, but still keeping the relevant information about the characters. My topic was Beauty and the Beast, I retold the story through an animatic storyboard of pictures and trying to establish the mood of the characters through the use of music.
  • Before I die title sequence
Before I die title sequenceMy original and first project attempting to combine typography, filming and editing and a section of motion graphics. The project was loosely based on the book 'Before I die', the project was filmed and the book was lit with lighting equipment, the typography was printed onto the edges of the pages and the turning pages were filmed. I enjoyed printing out the type on the notebook pages as I wanted the text to be original and be on the book instead of editing it to make it look like it was on the page. Looking back at this project I would like to attempt to remake and potentially make a better version now that it is 2 years on since initially completing this project.

A weeks long work experience placement in the Sky Creative department My role was to shadow the professionals in their working environment during live studio recordings and in the gallery of Sky Sports and Sky Sports News. As well as learning to understand how Sky broadcast their programmes live to TV. Overall It was an enjoyable week, as I was able to experience different roles first hand, live on the job.
