About me
My name is Sophie and I am currently a final year Graphic Design User Experience student from Sheffield Hallam University. My interests lie in human-centred design and creating work for social good. I have a keen interest in UX , UI , branding and developing design systems that best fit my target audience’s needs. My perception of what design is and what it can be is heavily influenced by my aspirations, environment and morality. Human-Centred design fulfils my desire to improve functionality and equity in design as it puts the user at the forefront of innovation. Each project I have worked on has been a unique endeavour, providing me with an opportunity to develop both professionally and personally. I would describe myself as a driven, compassionate individual with a positive mindset. I like to help build towards a warm and friendly working environment collaboratively where I can listen and communicate ideas from my peers to work towards innovation and creativity. Look! RSA Press Play proposalI recently submitted my entry for the RSA's Press Play Design brief in partnership with Lego. In the UK, 90% of deaf children are born to hearing parents with little experience of how to communicate with a deaf person. Many families struggle to communicate with their deaf child, creating a gap in social development which consequently lead to slower rates in language development for deaf children. Look! Two + Two participantCreative Resource
I was fortunate enough to take part in this years Two + Two event created by Creative Resource and sponsored by Wejo and Steven Bartlett. The aim of the competition was to create a social campaign that encouraged Gen Z to advocate for the benefits of data sharing amongst an older audience. Overall the day was a great experience and I was able to work alongside advertising, marketing and creative students up and down the North.
