I am a Spatial Designer specialising in creation of highly immersive narrative environments in the form of exhibitions, sets, events and interactive installations in public spaces, focused on public engagement. My drive in my career is my curiosity to understand and explore the relationship of body, space and time wherein the user is impacted with the most heightened experience. My last job led me to the creation of highly immersive narrative environments with the internationally renowned Design firm, Rajeev Sethi Scenographers pvt. Ltd. (RSSG), based in New Delhi. I worked on four projects namely the Bombay international Airport T2, Hyatt Andaz in New Delhi, Hyatt Regency in Gujarat and GIIS School in Abu Dhabi. Empowered by an insatiable desire to learn and exchange, I took part in the multi-disciplinary course MA Creative Practice for Narrative Environments at CSM, UAL, London. This gave me the opportunity to design and manifest live projects with Kerb London, ArctiviumLab Paris and The Artience Camp, Art Council South Korea as work experience. I graduated with distinction in 2011 from CEPT University in India; I worked as an Interior Designer, Assistant Researcher and an Illustrator. To expand my enthusiasm in multidisciplinary design, I worked on several exhibitions, installations, two book publications and research + design innovation with RSSG New Delhi, Design Innovation and Craft Research Centre (DICRC) Gujarat.
I am currently focused on creating highly immersive environments for Bombay international Airport, Hyatt Andaz in New Delhi, Hyatt Regency in Gujarat and GIIS School in Abu Dhabi. I am in direct contact with the clients, vendors, fabricators, carpenter, designers, artists and the head of our company. I am involved in a project from the conceptualization till the final execution on site.
I was involved in designing A conceptual proposal for the year 2100 through a collaboration of Design and Medicine. We a team of five designers from all over the world worked with a group of scientists from the reputed KAIST university in Daejeon. The outcome, a product with four other products were exhibited in Daejeon, South Korea and Central Saint Martin's college of Art and Design in London.
I with two of my Design colleagues designed and executed the first street food festival held in Granary square, kings Cross, london.
I did research on Traditional Art and Craft of India, focused on Coordinating workshops, got involved in Design Innovation, Illustrations, Book Design and finally Exhibition Design for the spatial elements made.
I did my bachelor's thesis on Understanding Scenography through the works of Rajeev Sethi. Also, I got the opportunity to Design an exhibition Motion, Myth and Magic under him.
I was recommended to work on TATA CONSULTANCY PTE LTD for Gandhinagar, India I was involved in the conceptualization of the interior design, circulation and furniture design of the space. I also worked on the color palette of the space to be.
I worked on Interior Design and Architectural projects which involved working on confidential projects in the following format: 1. conceptualization and working on presentation drawings 2. Site visits for building construction 3. Model making and prototyping for a housing unit.
As a Design Intern I had the opportunity to work on four different type of projects namely Residential, Commercial, Hospitality and Corporate spaces. I also had the opportunity to go for site visits and coordinate work to contractors and the rest of the experts.
I was exposed to designing visitor experiences for museums, brand, urban and community environments. I worked in multidisciplinary teams to tell stories by combining text, image, sound and physical space to create original engaging and immersive experiences.
I was engaged in a 5 years intensive course wherein I trained in space planning, technical drawing, furniture design, graphic design, sketching, 2d + 3d Softwares, photography, structure and Material study. I also got involved in block printing, carpentry, metal fabrication, weaving, and pottery. During my study period I also had a chance to go for an exchange to Hochschule fuer Technik, Stuttgart Germany for a semester.
