  • Head Shoulders Knees & Bones
Head Shoulders Knees & BonesThis was a project developed during my Creative Media Technology course. Strong focus was placed on illustrative work, and user interfaces. "Education Leeds wishes to create a new campaign to revitalize the National Curriculum for children across the Key Stage 1-3 age groups in the subject of Science. This commission is to create an interactive learning tool supporting a Science subject area in one of the Key Stage age groups. The interactive should work on a tablet device and also on the Education Leeds website. It will be the first in a series of resources which help students with their homework and preparation for Key Stage assessments. We are keen for this interactive to be quick to launch, quick to navigate and most importantly, fun. We’d like to create an accessible learning experience and for it to be funny, light-hearted and engaging and are seeking something fresh. Possible directions could be character driven, modern-day humour or possibly learning through game play. However we are happy for you, the designer, to approach the challenge with your own concepts and ideas. The specific science topic featured within the interactive is to be chosen by you, but must relate to at least one of the National Curriculum science topic areas."
  • Titan Gym
Titan GymTitan Gym is a power-lifting gym, focusing on education, hard-work, equality and a drug-free atmosphere within fitness. It aims to abolish fears and intimidation related to weight lifting especially with women, and reach out to welcome a range of audiences. It also wanted to emphasise it's wide range of equipment and hands-on help. A full branding and marketing campaign was needed to help Titan Gym achieve this. The brief was quite open, however Titan Gym wished to keep the strong, powerful, gritty and hardcore emotives attached to power-lifting whilst making it more approachable. After researching about how different audiences interact with fitness, the project took a strong focus within typography and motivational pieces in a bid to steer away with the stigma attached to what some audiences view as 'unrealistic' physiques, and use more raw emotion and uplifting undertones to help build relatability and a community of 'training Titan.' Branding guidelines were created and then alongside this, promotional materials including flyers, motivational posters for the gym, business cards, t-shirts, a social media overhaul and campaign plus a website were created for the Gym.
