I was hired to manage a budget of £2million and coordinate quarterly spend for the reintroduction of an exiting brand into the market with a new brand position into offline and major online outlets including Ocado’s, Sainsbury’s and Co-Op. It was a one man role that involved creating a team, hiring agencies and managing that team towards a tight press launch deadline. We successfully rebranded the product from ‘Hare’s Moor’ to ‘The Tastesmiths’. We redefined the packaging from opaque and quite dull to transparent Doy packs that allowed the consumer to see what they were purchasing and improved on shelf brand visibility. Working with Cow PR we communicated with mainstream press, incentivising key YouTube bloggers and organised a PR launch event. Our marketing spend was justified when we introduced the new brand position to Ocado’s and boosted profit margins from 5,000 units in sales to 50,000 per annum. I made huge savings on the budget by hiring effective skilled agents and freelancers which could then be divided into the bigger cost of upscaling from a small production kitchen to a larger one.
