Projects
  • Strange New Habits
Strange New HabitsSouth Africa had some of the strictest lockdown regulations in the world during the height of its Covid19 response. I became interested in the manner in which people were reacting to our new way of living, and the subtle ways in which we interact with the world around us changed. Some of these strange new sights include hand sanitizer in the cigarette stands (due to a complete ban on tobacco products) and church sermon pamphlets shoved in the driver side car doors to continue remotely spreading
  • The Bo Kaap
The Bo KaapI live in an area of Cape Town called the Bo Kaap. It is frequented by tourists, and I became interested in the manner in which foreigners interacted with the locals, who's homes they flock to see. I spent a few months documenting and observing these interactions, and was fortunate enough to have my series published by itsnicethat.com. You can check out the write up that accompanies the series there that Lucy Bourton from itsnicethat put together, I think it adds a lot of insight to the images!

     - London, United Kingdom
I spent 3 years in London earning my honors degree in Photography at LCC. I learnt more of the theory of photography than I could ever hope to make use of, and am formally educated in analog darkroom processes as a result of the photography departments nurturing of old photographic processes.
