About me
Throughout my career in PR and Marketing I have grown a host of great media and supplier contacts within a wide range of different areas. In the last year my role has been focusing on devising creative content for brands such as Diageo, Nokia, Microsoft, Drinkaware and Fererro who trust me to pitch creative solutions for new briefs and news-jacking moments. I have liaised with artists to build sculptures around client’s products, written storyboards, treatments and scripts as well as directing videographers and overseen final edits. With Microsoft I am their global communications officer, and implement the PR and social activity toolkits that is received by local markets. Other than work I am a very keen traveller, photographer and jewellery maker – I have my own jewellery business called Goldy Rocks. My biggest life achievement so far is my adventure hitchhiking across the Pacific Ocean on small sailing vessels during October 2011-12. My family recently moved to Dubai to start WOW Media, which I advise on as well.
Projects
  • Visit London Maze
Visit London MazeThe West End Partnership was looking for an event to raise worldwide awareness of the area, to ultimately drive visitor numbers in the long run. Cake created a 30m square maze in the heart of Trafalgar Square, encouraging visitors to “Get Lost In The West End”. Inside the maze, visitors were able to read about lesser-known hidden facts around the West End, whilst a performance space at the heart showcased some of the area’s cultural expertise. The maze generated over 220 pieces of coverage, wort
  • Microsoft Mission 31 Hub
Microsoft Mission 31 HubWe directed and created content for the Mission 31 hub, as well as collated for press coverage. The project saw scientists living underwater for 31 days and carrying out experiments on the sea bed.
  • Organic Charger
Organic ChargerMy own project - I teamed up with artist Caleb Charland and created an organic circuit that could charge a Nokia mobile phone and displayed it to the world at Westfield shopping centre. I created the global toolkit and video, which received over 100,000 views organically and was shared on BBC News as the third greatest thing that happened in 2014. We also saw a 20% rise in sales of the phone directly from this campaign.

As part of the wider Marketing team, I manage the global communications internally and externally for Time Out Media worldwide and Time Out Markets. I oversee all the copy for the corporate website, press page, LinkedIn, Twitter and investor pages as well as create all the press release copy for all brand activations, thought leadership, business news and more. Throughout 2020 I led on all the PR strategy to ensure we stayed relevant during the pandemic. This included developing thought leadership pieces and placements for the CEO to discuss the Time Out to Time In brand pivot, securing interview slots in Sky News, BBC News, Press Gazette and many more. Worked with brand partners to leverage collaborations including our lead sponsorship of Global Pride, InstaLive Festival celebrating independent businesses globally with Instagram, UberEats Love Local story and more. I also work closely with the editorial team to drive PR coverage for the annual Time Out Index survey. I helped launch Time Out Market Dubai in April 2021, which was a great success, achieving over 150+ pieces of coverage globally. It was a learning experience navigating new event safety regulations during Covid.

Within a 3 month period I developed and created a series of stargazing events across the country for Google, negotiating and contracting astronaut Tim Peake and the Royal Observatory Greenwich as partners. We released a series of events including surprising the village of Star in Wales with a talk from Tim Peake, an urban stargazing experience turning off the lights of The Shard and a first, creating a sky map using a smartphone device. The campaign, which was planned and executed via my lead, generated over 200 pieces of coverage with 875M OTS.
