Recruitment Manager (On-Campus)University of The Arts London (UAL)
     - London, United KingdomFull Time
I managed the in-house temp recruitment (ArtsTemps) department, a team of four staff, a large budget and in excess of 150 temp vacancies a month. We work closely with HR and payroll to ensure all temps are recruited quickly, efficiently and within employment legislation. UAL is the largest Arts university in Europe, I'm accountable for sourcing, managing and placing student and graduate temps into vacancies within internal departments and managing projects to improve efficiency. This is a highly commercial role, whereby I worked to annual KPIs and with a variety of different stakeholders to ensure we meet users expectations and internal targets. My team provided a full end to end recruitment service, from the initial request from a manager, to arranging interviews, conducting right to work checks, reference checks and placing candidates into roles. Achievements include: Working with HR to update policies and processes to include the employment of students on Tier 4 Visas. This was a 9 month project, from consultation to approval by the exec board, this project ensured that students working on campus did not exceed their Tier 4 visa requirements. Please note, part of this project was to also update digital processes to include auto alerts when a student was due to reach their limit. Managing a database of in excess of 150 vacancies a month and 800+ active candidates. Working to and achieving the employment objectives of UAL's 3/6 year strategic plan Managing the department budget/ profit. The annual department turnover is £1.3 million, with around 12% profit. The profit is reinvested back into the service I.e. Staffing, marketing, IT updates & funding student employability projects. Managing and increasing attendee numbers to the annual Job Fair. The fair has grown by 529% since 2009. The increased popularity in the fair has grown due to: Clearly defined objectives A larger variety of employers Strong online & offline marketing Introduction of social media
