Any advice on my CV with a photo vs one without + layout change? I've been successful with both, but 1 was for London and the other Lisbon.

- I'm from Portugal, working in London - CV with photo in Portugal is the common thing, but I've heard from different people that they don't like in the UK.
- I guess it pretty much depends also on the audience you wish to talk to; if it's a small agency (15 to 30 people) then a photo could get to a closer/warmer approach, which may be appreciated. If on the other hand, the target is corporate, a photo wouldn't help much imo.
- Lot's of brilliant advice on this topic here: https://the-dots.com/asks/opinions-on-including-a-picture-of-yourself-on-your-cv-19559
- @Ellie Hutchinson-James Thanks for your reply! Helpful, and good to know.
- @Harriet Mayhew Yes thanks! This has been helpful.
- I asked the same question on Twitter only a few days ago. Out of 25 responses, 92% said no photo. It provides an opportunity unfortunately for employers to have preconceptions and judge (essentially) the person applying. Go without, as a method of preventing any potential employer discrimination
- I guess it depends on the role, but if they're an equal ops employer, a photo would make it difficult for them to be unbiased, so I would say don't include a photo. Hope that helps.
