Any typographers that have knowledge on the steps/software required to create your own font?

- @Weronika Szklarek thanks for the tips
- Heya! Personally I think it’s good to sketch on paper first and then go digital. It might be also helpful to play around in Illustrator first and then move to font software. I have used Glyphs and Robofont, they are similar and well known ☺️
- @susheel basra Thanks, I’ll take a look
- @Geoffrey Bunting Thank you, I’ll check it out
- font forge is friendly to use - and its a free download.- simple youtube tutorials too.
- ♫FontLab♫It has a stiff learning curve but is incredibly versatile and the results have always been excellent for me.
- @Paul Jays Thanks for the breakdown on the pro's of each, I am only looking to make a one off, so I'll be looking into Fontself
- @Morphe Digital Design Oh cool, thank you
- @Alex Abadjieva Thank you, I'll check it out
- @Rahul Islam Thannks, I'll look into it
- There are loads of type design tools out there. The ones I use are Glyphs and Fontself. Glyphs is easy to use once you get to know it. But it is pricey and Fontself is very easy to use and cheap. It all depends on what your design the type for? If its one off use then get Fontself. If your design the type for sale like a type foundry the get Glyphs.
- I was planning to use Glyphs. It has a free trial!
- Not a typographer but I’ve heard a lot about an illustrator plugin called fontself super easy to use too
