As someone looking into going into freelance copywriting, what is people’s advice?
I’m currently in a full-time job and I am unsure how to make that leap as financially responsible as possible.

- Don’t expect paid work until you’ve shown you can be trusted to deliver the goods. If you’re writing sales copy, offer to a company that you will do it for free, to show you’re capable. Just one or two articles mind!
- Hey Jess, please feel free to send me some examples of your work.
- Build a portfolio, write blogs/articles, network on social and connect with people you want to write for.More advice here: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/work-get-vikki-ross
- @Alexandra (Lex) Hearth I second that!
- Hey Jess, if I were you, I would use this time while you're in full-time work to start to build a portfolio, as well as some contacts at the type of companies you'd be interested in writing for. The first thing people are going to want to see, when you apply for freelance copywriting roles, is evidence that you'll be able to jump straight in. Hope that helps but let me know if you need more specific ideas on portfolio building, Lex x
