I am an ambitious and innovative content writer with a keen eye for detail. My first and foremost love has always been for writing, whether it's been re-living nostalgic memories through travel writing to writing a blog post about healthy living in London. In the past, I have written a wide range of website, marketing and social media copy on a variety of subjects; from fashion to food and fitness to film reviews. A copy chameleon, I am able to effortlessly adjust my style for different channels and audiences, whatever the needs of the brief. I am also a Yoga Teacher and use my knowledge and experience of teaching yoga to people of all different abilities to write about the benefits of yoga, yoga for healing and for coping with difficult experiences and stress. I write regular articles for Healthy Living London, a health and wellness online magazine. I attend a variety of Press events covering topics such as food, health, fitness and alternative therapies, photographing the event and writing reviews for Healthy Living London’s young but diverse audience.
I teach a range of students in weekly group classes and private lessons, helping them to develop a meditation practice, increased flexibility and better self-awareness. I designed and built my brand including my WordPress website www.lumayoga.co.uk. A key part of my role is to have an excellent level of communication, both when talking to my students and via my eNewsletter and social media channels, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I have the ability to listen, to engage and to hold space for my students.
I worked on the Mercedes-Benz account, managing all the Loyalty and bread and butter email campaigns. I ran the projects from brief to deployment, successfully delivering a variety of creative email communications as well as Direct Mail projects for Maybach. Communications I managed included Aftersales, smart car, competitions, welcome emails, eNews and model updates. While juggling my responsibilities in Client Services, I also worked closely with the Creative teams, supporting the Copywriting team by writing copy for the Welcome and Request a Test Drive emails. My greatest achievement was the successful delivery of the 2016 Black Friday email campaign, which directly attributed to a 238% increase in Service Care Plan sales over the weekend alone.
I became familiar with agency life and the pace, workflow and processes. I worked on brands including Argos, Better Cities and Angel London across print, digital and social media. I contributed ideas for new business pitches and campaigns, designed email newsletters and wrote copy for social media and print. I art directed a photography shoot in Farringdon for the launch of the Better Cities app, retouching the photos for print and web. I also edited and proof-read all of the content for print and digital before it was sent to production.
Chief responsibilities included designing all of techUK’s branded marketing collateral using Adobe CC as well as managing the newsletter send to all 850 of its members. I worked closely with the Marketing Director to refine the strategy for all techUK’s marketing and events schedule.
I worked at GDR Creative Intelligence membership consultancy, researching and writing articles about trends and foresights across digital, technology and retail. I pitched ideas for new articles in team meetings, researching around article subjects and writing editorial articles to tight deadlines for GDR’s member’s digital platform. I conducted research and case studies for major fashion, retail and digital brands including Louis Vuitton.
I completed a Journalism Internship at The Surrey Mirror, writing short to long articles, ranging from interviews about the Titanic to writing weather reports.
I joined at a pivotal time during a major rebrand and took the lead with liaising with the design agencies for branding projects. I art-directed photography shoots, used Adobe CC to create marketing material for events, wrote regular articles for the Marylebone Times and Independent Practitioner on the Hospital’s latest research and news as well as ensuring the Hospital’s marketing material was consistent, fresh and up to date.
I crafted interesting feature articles for Leeds Student Newspaper, from film reviews to historical articles on the Black Slave Trade.
