Can anyone recommend to me an app or tool that helps schedule and organise your workload as a self employed person?
For context, I work in audio as a sound editor, mainly on vocals for music.

- @Emma Denney Hey Emma it might be that really you just need a task management app (like Things https://culturedcode.com/things/) and shake up how you use your calendar... I used to use Things and found it incredibly helpful... when I started to use Notion I found that it had the functionality of several apps I used for different purposes (Task management / note taking / status tracking etc)... if you dont need all functionality you could just keep it simple!
- @Robin Howie Thanks Robin, I'll check it out. So far, I've not found one that works for me, including checking those below. I need a very simple tool that has a calendar type schedule so I can book in tasks/clients and check my own availability, but which allows tasks to be added with due dates and ideally being able to visually see notes/colours of the tasks to distinguish their status. A lot of the apps suggested offer far too much for just little old me without a team and complex projects! :)
- Hi EmmaI tested out most of the ones mentioned below and found that (for me) they were missing a feature (leading to a bit of a mess of different services) or were to complicated with too many features I didnt need. Instead I use Notion (notion.so) which has ended up replacing a stack of other services I used to use... you can customes templates really easily. Might be worth bookmarking if the others don’t pan out for you.
- @Dan Kennedy thanks so much for the suggestions!
- Hey Emma... We also use Monday.com which is great. I also use this - https://fullfocusstore.com/collections/planners/products/full-focus-planner-classic Its had the best sticking rate of everything I've tried. It keeps you on track doing the things you actually need to be doing as well as being realistic about how much time you actually have available at any given time.... Best of luck...
- @Luke Spencer wow thanks! Yes it’s just me working on my projects so just need something simple. I’ll check it out!
- Hey Emma - I have managed big global projects all the way down to teams of just two people (or just myself!) all on AirTable:airtable.comHope it helps!
- I like to use Trello
- monday.com works pretty well!
