Do creative/ art directors mind giving feedback on entry level portfolios? What is the best way to reach out to get honest feedback

  • Keep an eye on creative event platforms like glugevents.com

Actually speaking to directors, AD's etc in person and asking face to face is usually the most effective and feels the least spammy!
  • Hi Selina,
most CD/AD won't mind feedback it's a nurturing industry and when they were younger they would have recieved feedback from lots of people in the industry as well it's how we all learn and grow our creativity. I would mention it's worth thinking about the type of work you do and what inspires you.. and apporach the people who are like-minded or work in a way you want to know more about or grow towards.
    Best of luck, Jade
  • Honestly, I find just calling and being honest with your intentions usually puts you on the right path. Or just try to find the emails of senior designers/creative directors.

    Best of luck!
  • YCC have 'Crit Me'. It's a good way to get started and make connections. https://youngcreativecouncil.com/agency-contacts/
  • Hi Selina,

This is a tough one! Certainly an original / strong portfolio can help and a great and strategic media-presence is obligatory, but.. bear in mind, we live in a hyper-saturated world and studios receive a huge number of emails/day.. Good luck!
