Does your design team work with a Design System? If so what's your approach, setting it up, selling it to your client and maintaining it.

Also what tools do you use? (Figma, Sketch, Zero-height, Storybook etc..)

  • Replying to this in 1,000 characters is impossible... I wrote a whole book about it! Haha. https://designsystemfoundations.com To answer the more technical side, I recommend Figma for large complex products, but Sketch is also very powerful and more than fine for website projects. Selling the system to stakeholders is key to success, I talk a lot about that in the book.

We use a design system here at The Dots. Our community and CEO are very particular about our UI, UX, and overall brand look & feel. Given that it was easy to sell in the value of having all the efficiencies and consistency that a system gives you.

We design the system in Sketch, manage it in Abstract, and share it with the bigger team via Zepplin.
