Email advice for a newbie!
I'm looking to create a new email address, purely for work related enquiries - is there a difference professionally between Outlook and Gmail, ie is one considered more professional than another? Or is there another email I should use?

- Hey @Karran RajaniIts a good question. To be safe, I'd find a unique address like KR@KRajani.com etcFor example I have rashpal@rashpalgurm.com and contact@rashpalgurm.comMy website (www.rashpalgurm.com) is registered with Gandi, who provide 2 emails of your choice connected with your domain with the package. This was around £9 for everything for the first year I think.Anyway, you might not need your own site for it. A quick google should give you the asner.Short of that, for some reason people take Gmail more seriously over hotmail / outlook. I think its because we all had hotmail in the early 2000s along with MSN haha.I think Google Gsuite does offer a pro email serivce along with their Gmail accounts. As far as mail management goes, I use 'Mailbird'. It's only available for windows, and has completely changed the way I work.Let me know what you thinkThanks and thatRash
- Getting yourself a domain as @Ø Macioti suggests either related to your name/nic/byline/field of work interest/ ... doesn't have to cost a lot.Free Mail like Outlook, Gmail and others I recommend using for online presence/social media/ etc.
- I went with Gmail a long time ago, and it's really worked out well for me, especially once I connected it to the address I created from my web domain name. Same as Macioti, there's probably not a great deal of difference between that and Outlook, I'm just used to Gmail. :)
- @Milly Gallacher @Ø Macioti Fab, thank you for your help!
- I personally prefer gmail but if you own your own domain (mine is £14 a year) you can quite easily set up your own email using that and have it forwarded to your outlook or gmail.
- As far as I know there's not such a wild difference between Outlook and Gmail, but people tend to have Gmail over Outlook. In an ideal world, having your own email address (i.e. hello@karranrajani.com) would be the way to go, but not having ventured there yet I'm not sure how to help!
