Hi all! Been considering redoing my CV and giving it more personality. Do any of you customise your own CV's?
My family all do quite academic jobs, so when I first made my CV (and as it still stands), its quite bland anf facts based. I was advised by a mentor of mine to customise it and add my artwork to it-make it stand out.
Personally-I've let me folio do the work, but maybe thats not enough to stand out?
If any creatives out there have gone from bland word documents to full on curated CV's-could you let me know the feedback/benefits you recieved. Is it worth the makeover?
Really appreciate this!!
Love,
Yas

- Definitely it's worth it :). I kept it concise and factual (2 pages) but I've followed the look&feel of my website and added some fun things so people kept reading.
- Hi Yasmine! I would recommend looking at Find Your Intern - more fashion but also graphic based and also Nikky Lyle Creative on Instagram I used her CV templates for inspiration and secured my first full-time design role, and I am a part of the Find Your Intern membership both super helpful platforms!
- Here’s an unpopular opinion I have developed across the years working for big brands and researching about personal branding:Once you start talking about who you are, what you do, what you have achieved, hobbies, aspirations, dreams, ambitions, etcPeople zone out. They get into a deep meditation about everything else than you. What do you need to say then?
