Hi there, I am looking to change career and train in UX/UI design, can any designers give me advice or suggest any courses? Thanks!

  • Hi Heather
If you're looking to dip your toe in I can't fault @GeneralAssembly – they have plenty of free taster events in this area from the people who lead their courses, always worth subscribing to: https://generalassemb.ly/

If you're looking to pick up some very worthy qualifications at a budget, look no further than the Interaction Design Foundation (or IDF), who give you access to as many courses as you can do for a nominal anuual subscription – they're quite full-on but come with industry-recognised certificates: https://www.interaction-design.org/

    Hope that helps

  • I took the CalArts specilaisation a while ago and found it very instructive. Although ultimately I realised that wasn't the kind of things I enjoyed, I cannot fault the teachers and the tourough approach of the whole course.

One thing though, I think that when they state 5 hours per week, they're being optimistic. It took me way longer to prepare and submit assignments (maybe I'm just slow :) )
    Hope it helps!
