  • I've used PeoplePerHour (I know, Iknow), though once you do a deep dive into the organisation/people and their influence, it can open a lot of doors.
  • @Josie Villeneuve It's really bad, I used to use Upwork but noticed things slipping on there as it got more popular and sites like Fiverrr are so demoralising. If these sites actually wanted to support creatives they would include a minimum rate and vet clients and designers
  • @Emma De Nege Exactly, in my real life by contact of other I have no problem finding work and being decently paid for it, but when I go online what they expect you to do for the budget is just ridiculous, at least to know I am not alone in that situation helps a lot
  • Good question. I am having a nightmare at the moment. I keep applying for both freelance and permanent work as a designer and seem to be getting nowhere. I did get a contract doing storyboards through this very site. However all other projects last year were via people I already know and I exhausted that pretty quickly!
  • Hi Josie,

LinkedIn is also a good platform if you’re looking for work within graphic design.

Connect with as many recruiters and talent acquisition managers as possible, message them, they tend to post when there’s a gig available to.
  • I got my current contract through YunoJuno which is really good, some great clients and very regulated in terms of making sure everyone (freelancers and clients) are legit but there's a lack of shorter term projects/contracts on there and I've found that other platforms expect you to work for shocking rates for smaller projects. I'm not sure where people are finding shorter term projects but would love to know!
