Looking for advice on how to get clients when you're an introvert?
Redundancy is a possibility for me at the moment but I'm all set and ready to move to freelance (again) but I'm stuck on how to approach clients to get work. I'm confident in my design skills but find it hard to approach people. I'm looking for any advice or tips on how people get over this and get themselves out there! Thanks, Richard

- @Anna Negrini thanks Anna. I've got my website done I just need to figure out how to promote it better.
- One thing that helped me is shifting focus from myself to the people I was approaching, so it's not saying "I'm amazing bla bla" but "hey I can help you in improving your brand or your social media, etc". Also being an introvert means you are better in listening and this is something the good clients appreciate a lot. Another tips: put your work out there and make people find you.
- @Kriti Mittal Thanks Kriti, I guess that's the first step: Sending a message and putting myself out there, even if it's just one person.
- @Rob Fuller Thanks Rob, I guess one problem I find is i compare myself to others on Social Media... some people seem so comfortable talking about how amazing they are and how exciting their work is, I just find that's not me. I need to find an approach that suits me and really shows who i am, rather than behaving how others do.
- @Andy Turba Hey Andy, thanks for the advice! I've followed you on Instagram.
- Hey Richard! I'm exactly the same, been made redudnant and went freelancer during covid. What worked for me was to 'cold-message' peopel on LinkedIn - it's very hard for us introverts and the beginning but over the coming weeks you'll build more resilience and eventually move into phone calls and become comfortable with those too.I know it may sound like an impossible task at this stage, trust me I felt exactly the same, but training, training and more training did it for me :)I don't check it here too often so if you'd like to chat further for more detailed step-by-step strategy (that worked for me at least) please feel free to hit me up on IG @andy.turba

- I think the best way to be out there especially when an introvert is to pop in an email and have conversation there and slowly progress into telephonic conversation if thats something you're scared of.You can just let your work do the talking and be visually representative. If by any chance you're stuck somewhere just pop in another question and I'm sure the client would not be afraid to follow through.Just popping in emails to potential clients or being active would do the job!If you're unable to find clients then The Dots is one of a great platform to be active on.
