- I'm using Notion + another platform called Popsy which translates Notion pages into nicer designed pages. I set it up when I needed something quick and free but I've been loving it so much I haven't changed it yet! I think I'll probably upgrade the front end platform but keep Notion as the backend tbh. Here's the site in question: https://wordsbyameena.co.uk/I also use Cargo for my photography and some writing, it's not as easy or convenient as Notion but it's also super nice to use: https://www.ameenarojee.co.uk/
- Readymag and Tilda is working for my portfolio:https://readymag.com/https://tilda.cc/
- Hey Meghan,I am interested in designing your website for you.I'm a Freelance Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Founder of Ourwavesss Brand Studio designing meaningful brand identities, content creation and website design for a variety of clients. Here is a link to my website for you to take a look at my most recent work (I also designed my own website) www.ourwavesss.comWould be great to connect with you!
- If you go the DIY route I can recommend WIX, which has an easy to navigate menu, lots of templates, big storage for media.
- Hey Meghan, I'd love to help you build a Wix website. That's what I recommend to most of my clients as it's very easy to use and manage once the website is built!
- It mainly depends about your needs.I believe Framer would be best DIY option for you now. Here is my recent post where I did write about it: https://the-dots.com/asks/level-up-your-online-presence-with-framer-design-and-publish-with-one-click-87954If you don´t have previous web design experience by DIY you probably mean website based on ready made template. I would re-consider that though. Its my personal opinion that creatives shouldn´t use templates. Bad branding.Webflow should be another good alternative to Framer. Bit better CMS functionality for now. Also a lot more templates available so you can find what works for you. Still pretty easy and cost effective to make a custom one.Wordpress is an option if you want self hosted solution (I know there are cloud versions too however I don´t see advantage over Webflow there). You can have freedom to build fully custom solution. Without previous skills you probably need to hire someone. You can get started with templates yourself however in my opinion it doesn´t make sense.I personally wouldn´t suggest Squarespace. I hate it. It has some pretty templates. Developer experience to create custom themes was awful. My last contact was few years ago however I haven´t heard that they have made any bigger updates. I would say that in long term it limits you quite a lot. Webflow seems more open and easier to do custom. Framer I hope will develop fast. With Framer you can do custom layout much faster.Wix is another option. Again years ago I didn´t like it myself. Was bit closed. Didn´t see any advantage over Webflow. Have read that some people suggest and say that EditorX has improved a lot.
- Hi Megan I could help with a Squarespace website and a full build or just give you hourly advice with some tutorials of how to use the platform and DIY. DM if you’d be interested. www.joshhester.co.uk
- In the end, I hired a professional. Is worthy!
- Hey Meghan, I built my own in WordPress but despite all the tutorials that tell you how easy it is (and as someone who has managed WordPress sites for years) I didn't find it that straightforward. I would totally do a DIY solution next time.
