When working as freelance, how do you price your work, projects or hourly rate?

- I usually go for a day rate unless the client specifically requests otherwise. Here is a useful guide to get a sense of what other freelancers are charging in different creative areas: http://gatsby-live.herokuapp.com/freelancers/average-day-rates/design/?fbclid=IwAR0JDVnUXr-Crkcs9bNZyK-7zdsEel68TE8kO6wlkR_vFiHkkCLfpy9TKCY
- @Jo Crossley this helps so much, thanks jo :)
- As a junior I charge a day rate of £125, would be going to around £250 as I move to more mid weight roles. There’s a few money transparency initiatives going on in the creative industries right now too, like this one: https://twitter.com/alexandreholder/status/1273179227177791490?s=21. Hope that helps!
- Hi Sofia,You should consider what you’d like to earn in a year (minus your days of holiday) and divide it by the working days/hours to get your rate. This should give you an idea!Stefania
- Hey Sofia,I always price per project. However I calculated my hourly rate to know what's my starting point.Hope this answers,Lucas
