- Hi Sezay,Love the image with the wolf, I think using more abstract imagery to give the essence could be more visually interesting, which seems more more present in this piece.I feel that colour works better than black and white as the juxtapostion of the yellow beak against everything else seems a bit jarring in my opinion. They all remind me very much of the work of Andreas Lie, who I don't know if you're familiar with but I've linked below and is definitely worth a look!https://www.andreaslie.comHe inspired me a good few years back when I was in college for a project of mine:https://www.instagram.com/p/BfqcO5UlZqc/
- @Nathan Day Hey Nathan. Thank you for your really valuable feedback.I will try to enjoy answering your nice questions. In the image provided here is it an eagle and New York?Yes. This is the oldes piece of the series. I added project link for you to check other pieces.https://the-dots.com/projects/wild-town-illustration-series-811448The text on the side, is that a signature or information? It is the SignatureI think juxtaposing animals and cities with what their connotations/representaions is an interesting thing to explore through a series, but I think you could push it further and make the imagery say more.Love this commoent so muchSezay
- Hi Sezay,I'm going to question more the aesthetic decisions you've made here rather than whether you enjoy making them or not (which it seems that you do) as I understand posting something like this is almost definitely doubt about your work is creeping in, which I believe is no bad thing, it's great to continually question your work, but also to know when to stop!In the image provided here is it an eagle and New York? Or have I got that wrong? The text on the side, is that a signature or information? If the latter then I would definitely change the font/composition/scale to make what it's translating clearer.I think juxtaposing animals and cities with what their connotations/representaions is an interesting thing to explore through a series, but I think you could push it further and make the imagery say more.Hope this helps!Nath :)
- I'm going to play devils advocate - if you feel you need to ask the answer is no, stop now and move onto something else.In my view a big part of creativity is about belief in the validity of your work. One can have all sorts of personal doubts, little or no self confidence and huge amounts of imposter system at a personal level - but the one (and possibly only) thing you will die on stake for is your belief in your work.I go back to my original point - if you need to ask it's all over already.
- @Lee Williams it is true.
- If you enjoy creating the work, then pursue it, no matter what other peoples opinions are.
- @Stefano Meloni it definetly makes me feel good. Every city has its own iconic animal, like London and Fox.Thank you for your thoughts... I totaly agree with you.
- Does this series of artworks make you happy? In my opinion you should push for this project if it has value for you.Value doen't have to mean money: it can be sentimental value, upskilling and so on.My advice is to focus on the projects you are happy to do, because this is the way you make your best (also paid!) projects!
