In these times of crisis, isolation may not just be a physical reality, but a psychological one; with many of us cut off from our friends, colleagues and family, we’re likely to experience an acute sense of loneliness and dislocation. Yet, as we gain a renewed appreciation of our need for connection, we also have a unique opportunity to reach out to others we know are in a similar position, and build stronger bonds based on an honest admission of our fears, frailties and hopes.

On May 25 at 7pm BST Alain de Botton, founder of The School of Life, will be discussing the topic of Loneliness and Connection: exploring what this crisis has to teach us about our relations with others, and how a newfound openness about our vulnerabilities can unlock a more genuine form of connection with friends and strangers alike. Hosted on Zoom, the talk will be followed by a Q&A, where you’ll have the opportunity to pose questions of your own directly to Alain.
