Selected by art director and set designer Shona Heath to celebrate our Objects of Desire: Surrealism and Design 1924 – Today exhibition, join us for the first in the museum's new film screening and talk series.

What to expect
Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster (2015) starring Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz and Olivia Colman imagines a world in which being in a relationship is the only sanctioned norm, and single people are given 45 days to find a partner or be transformed into an animal of their choice. In an absurd and unsettling turn of events, protagonist David seeks love in the rigid confines of The Hotel.
Shona Heath, set designer and long-time collaborator of fashion photographer Tim Walker, sees The Lobster as a modern masterpiece of Surrealist cinema. In a special screening at the Design Museum, Heath explains why The Lobster is one of her favourite films.
The screening will be followed by a discussion and audience Q&A with Heath hosted by curator Kathryn Johnson.
