Roundhouse is proud to partner with Jazz re:freshed to bring you this year’s JAZZ RE:FEST Online. JAZZ RE:FEST is a family-friendly, annual festival produced by pioneering movement Jazz re:freshed celebrating jazz and jazz-inspired music and culture.

After a fantastic online festival in 2020, keeping UK jazz thriving while venues were closed, JAZZ RE:FEST Online is back, and we are proud that the Roundhouse is this year’s partner venue.

This year, over 50 musicians will perform at the Roundhouse to showcase this groundbreaking and evolving genre, including Andrew Ashong, Balimaya Project, Cherise Adams Burnett, Colectiva, Denys Baptiste and Johanna Burnheart. Despite the barriers of the past year, Jazz re:freshed continue their mission to keep the scene thriving with JAZZ RE:FEST, by spotlighting a collection of emerging, midscale and established talent immersed in the expressive and creative world of jazz music and alternative culture.

Expect the lo-fi funk and multi-faceted grooves of vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Andrew Ashong; UK jazz legend, composer and educator Denys Baptiste; and the 16-piece tour de force big band, Balimaya Project, who combine traditional Mandé music and contemporary jazz to devastating effect. They will be joined by breakthrough vocalist and Tomorrow’s Warriors alumni Cherise Adams-Burnett, classically trained violinist and Rosie Turton collaborator Johanna Burnheart, and the Afro-Latin explorations of jazz sisterhood, Colectiva.

Jazz re:freshed’s Motet will be on hosting duties and Sky’s Jacqueline Shepherd will be presenting exclusive interviews with the artists on the day.

JAZZ RE:FEST Online is a free festival recorded at the Roundhouse. All support is welcome, so please donate today to Jazz re:freshed here.
