We know broadcast channels aren’t easy to access, or available to all, but those who do secure a commission have a fantastic opportunity to reach new audiences at scale.
In this webinar we want to demystify the process and what it means to create work for a broadcaster.

Natalie Woolman, Senior Producer at The Space, will be joined by guests who’ll share their experience, including those on commissions supported by The Space. And we’ll have plenty of time for questions.
Helen Shute is Chief Executive and Executive Producer of Rambert. Since joining in 2017, Helen has championed an exciting and ambitious programme, including Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby . A captured version Peaky Blinders: Rambert Dance will be screened on the BBC later in the year, following a limited cinema release.
Rosie Boulton is an award winning radio producer, and director and founder of audio company Must Try Softer Productions. She specialises in crafted features, drama documentaries, music programmes and podcasts. Among Must Try Softer’s recent credits for BBC Radio 3 are Essays: Coming Home and Black Country Secrets, plus Metal City, a documentary tracing the sound of metal in Birmingham.
Sarah Butcher started her career in theatre before working in TV, film, interactive arts and digital content. She’s a director/producer, and one of the founders of North South, who produce cinematic live performance capture and original work for livestream, on demand, broadcast and cinema. North South are co-producers of Peaky Blinders: Rambert Dance.
Sima Gonsai is a filmmaker, programmer and educator. She works across the arts and corporate sector, making films that compelling stories. Sima has received commissions from BBC, Birmingham City Council, Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund and Creative England, and she executive produced short films for Sky’s Unlocked series, as part of Coventry City of Culture 2022.
