We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer for Ladies’ Handbags & Small Leather Goods based in our London office.
Department Overview:
The Retail Buying department is responsible for assortment building and trading for our physical stores (Outlet & Full price) & Ecommerce Site.
The primary purpose of this position is to build robust Accessories product assortments and to manage & be responsible for maximising of sales and profit to ensure successful category growth.
The Buying team partners with teams across the business to identify opportunities, develop & execute product to build strong assortments to ultimately achieve or surpass financial objections.
The role will report to the Accessories Buyer.
What You’ll Do:
  • Support the Accessories Buying team to deliver business objectives.
  • With support from the Accessories Buyer and team, buy and trade the Handbags & Small Leather Goods departments for our European Full Price stores, Outlet stores & E-Commerce site.
  • Analyse & report on product performance in weekly & monthly trade. Devise actions & deliver trading activities to meet business targets, balancing long term goals with short term trading opportunities.
  • Partner with the Planning team to analyse business & stock opportunities, manage product flow and lifecycle and identify re-order opportunities by category and by style.
  • Contribute to seasonal sales analysis and devising commercial product strategies ahead of buys, in keeping with the wider business goals, and present to Senior Management.
  • Stock management: partner with the allocation team to ensure new product deliveries are sent to the right distribution in the right quantity.
  • Collaborate with the EMEA & Global Corporate Merchandising teams to propose product development that is right for the region and delivers the global brand vision.
  • Support with managing pricing for seasonal product.
  • Partner with internal functions (in particular: Marketing, Visual Merchandising, ECOM, Store Operations, Global Buying teams) to ensure clear synergy for the customer.
  • Gather customer feedback and stay on top of consumer trends and the competitive landscape; identify and make product ranging decisions based on sound analysis and current market trends.
  • Present and communicate strategic Buying priorities to the wider business in regular updates and seasonal presentations.
  • Support Accessories Buyer in managing and developing junior members of the buying team successfully.
  • Collaborate with other buying team members on cross-functional responsibilities.
  • Travel for market appointments and to European stores.
You’ll Need to Have:
  • 5+ years experience in Retail Buying or equivalent
  • Background in Handbags/Accessories with a strong knowledge of the market
  • Creative problem-solving skills, dynamic and resilient mindset, ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment at a fast pace
  • Positive attitude to change
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer Literate – Advanced Excel Skills
