We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Buyer, Women’s divisions, for the Retail & Concessions channels in our London office.
Department Overview:
The Retail and Concessions Buying departments are responsible for assortment building and trading for our physical stores & Ecommerce Sites.
The Buying team partners with teams across the business to identify opportunities, develop & execute product to build strong assortments to ultimately achieve or surpass financial objections.
The primary purpose of this position is to support the Buying division in building product assortments to drive commercial results for the women’s divisions, whilst ensuring we remain trend relevant in the market. This individual will work within the department and collaborate with VM, marketing, stores, merchandising teams, vendors and other partners on buys and business opportunities. The role will report to the divisional Buyer/Senior Buyer.
What You’ll Do:
  • Weekly, monthly & seasonal reporting & business analysis to track and feedback on sales performance, best & worst sellers, key trends to maximize opportunities and minimize liabilities to achieve continued growth and profitability of the business.
  • Partner with team to run analysis to identify key trends and opportunities in the assortment. Create trend boards and briefs where relevant. Attend and actively participate in market/buy activities.
  • Delivery management: work in partnership with Merchandising Planning and Allocations teams to track timely shipments of orders.
  • Stock management: work in partnership with the allocations team to ensure new product deliveries are sent to the right store ranging in the right quantity and deliver feedback.
  • Analyse and share selling insights based on reviewing analysis to grow and impact business.
  • Communicate and partner with planning, allocations, retail team, VM and ops to ensure right execution of all merchandising strategies.
  • Execute & maintain merchandising guidelines and product knowledge information to the stores.
  • Assist and help creation of monthly product launches with VM and Buying team.
  • Prepare and attend store visits and make recommendations & take actions to drive business.
  • Regular European travel to buy appointments, store visits & Concessions central office in Madrid.
  • Manage communication of staff uniform documents and ensuring orders are placed.
  • Competitor analysis and regular comp shops.
  • Work with buying coordinators to ensure POs & orders are inputted, checked and reconciled.
  • Be the point-person for communicating Marketing/PR teams.
  • Follow up seasonal store feedback and analyse and report back on business opportunities.
  • Training & supervising divisional buying coordinators day to day activities and workload.
  • Ad hoc administrative tasks or other activities required to support the Buying team and Retail & Concessions business units.
You’ll Need to Have:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Retail Buying or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Dynamic, resilient and happy to do business at fast pace; ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment; multi-tasking skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer Literate – Advanced Excel Skills
  • Knowledge and passion for product
