We are looking for an Assistant Producer to join the National Theatre Digital Team.
The Programming Team finalise programming for filming and distribution of productions across cinema, streaming and television. They are the first point of contact and manage relationships with Producers, Artists and all Rightsholders; securing rights and ensuring payment of fees and royalties.
The Assistant Producer will support the Programming Team across all areas of the National Theatre’s cinema and digital distribution, including National Theatre Live, National Theatre at Home, National Theatre Collection and other digital distribution opportunities. The Assistant Producer will ensure successful contract negotiation, relationship management with agents and the timely administration of all projects. This includes contracting co-producers, artists, show staff, stage management and licencing commercial music, images and any other third-party rights as required. This role is also responsible for the line management of the Rights & Contracts Coordinator.
The successful candidate will have the following:
  • Experience of producing theatre, film or television, ideally in a producing role.
  • Excellent administration skills and strong attention to detail, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook in particular).
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills with the ability to deal calmly, confidently and personably with people at all levels over the phone, via email, in person and on video-call, including being confident in managing expectations of stakeholders when required.
  • Understanding of complexity, and demonstrable experience of problem solving.
  • Demonstrable experience of project management.
  • Experience in contract negotiation.
