We are on the look out for someone well-versed in car accessories; from RC drift cars to snow foam, you will be knowledgeable across many categories but grounded enough to know not every reader knows ceramic from carnauba. We're looking for someone to get their hands mucky testing the latest crop of pressure washers one day and a selection of dash cams the next, turning their hands-on experience into a piece of content packed with expertise and authority.
As a Commercial Content Writer, you will produce engaging and authoritative content that helps and informs our audience and maximises affiliate revenue for Bauer’s portfolio of auto websites. As well as writing new best car care roundups and reviews, you will be continually optimising existing content designed to deliver direct revenue, ensuring it is seen by the largest possible audience and leads to conversion.
Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting the editor/deputy editor with planning and implementation of the content strategy, drawing on expertise from around the business to ensure the subjects we are covering are relevant and topical
  • Create and optimise high-quality content across autos designed to deliver affiliate revenue and precisely meet the needs of our valued audience
  • Organise and conduct detailed product testing, both for stand alone reviews and group tests
  • This includes researching, planning and writing comprehensive product tests and buying guides according to editorial guidelines and in line with current SEO standards
  • Creating accompanying photo and video material to provide our users with the best offers tailored to their needs in all relevant media formats
  • Working to agreed key performance targets including article upload and update goals
  • Develop high-quality working relationships with relevant editorial contacts and external partners
What you’ll bring
  • A love of all things automotive, from paintwork to wheel care and the latest driver assistance tech
  • You are excellent in written and communication skills
  • You have a collaborative mindset, can-do attitude with a willingness to get involved and a hunger to learn more
  • A keen interest in content creation and optimisation using CMS and Microsoft programs
  • At best, you already have some experience in writing product tests and know how to best support and advise readers in their purchasing decisions
  • An understanding of SEO
  • You have excellent time management as well as an understanding of prioritisation, are self-organised and have a hands-on mentality
  • Desirable - experience in using image editing software
  • Desirable - a working knowledge of affiliate marketing and online partnerships/trends
  • Desirable - experience in driving affiliate revenue in an agency/retailer or publisher environment would be a bonus
