The A Side: A Day in The Life
Based in London, Los Angeles and New York, Mercury Studios is a music first content studio established to develop, produce, globally distribute and invest in innovative, music-rooted storytelling.  Editorial independent from Universal, we work with a global network of creatives and artists in the areas of premium factual Film & TV, concert capture and performance led content, shortform and audio.  We are filmmakers in the world of music.
Alongside our original content, Mercury Studios represents the world’s leading catalogue of music-related content, consisting of thousands of hours of premium music-driven film and television programming.  Our Distribution and Content Sales team has over 20 years of experience of licensing music-driven content to buyers worldwide, from global platforms to national broadcasters, theatrical and emerging platforms like FAST.
Bringing these areas together we are uniquely placed to produce powerful projects which are editorially sound and reach global audiences.  Our projects have received Academy, BAFTA, Emmy, Grammy Awards and extensive festival wins.
This multidisciplinary role will support the Commercial Finance function and the VP of Catalogue, Operations and Technology in making raw data accessible and usable to help mercury studios solve problems and grow. The primary responsibility is to transform data via robotic process automation, implement data flows and develop business intelligence reports to help meet the company’s commercial objectives. The reporting will contain charts, graphs, diagrams, and dashboards to represent trends and predictions, with the ability to explain insights to a variety of audiences. This includes technical and non-technical teams.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Data-Driven
  • Transform raw data into useful and actionable insights
  • Gather data from various sources and analyse patterns
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and databases
  • Create data validation methods and analysis tools
  • Implement data flows for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systems
  • Support and assist with the execution of our data strategy
Be Technical
  • Develop BI and visualisations
  • Set up robotic process automations and workflows to improve business processes
Be Collaborative
  • Work with stakeholders and other data engineers to build solutions
Person Specification

Necessary
  • Cloud certification (AWS/GCP/Azure) or mastery of data platforms (BigQuery/Snowflake)
  • Experience using data visualisation tools (Google Looker Studio - PowerBI)
  • Commercial experience and financial literacy to help businesses grow and succeed
  • Experience with machine learning and robotic process automation
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others to share ideas and find solutions
  • Experience communicating findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Expertise in creating a wide range of visualisations and graphs
  • Proficiency in programming languages and knowledge of data management tools, such as relational databases and data lakes
  • A deep understanding of SQL and analytical data warehouses
  • Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools
  • Knowledge of data security principles and confidentiality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong data modelling skills
  • The ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate large amounts of information
  • A strong foundation in mathematics and statistics, and experience using statistical packages
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex problems using data
